I loved this. Well-written, backed up by data, and resonated with my experience and that of my friends, many of whom are still single.
And yet, Mr. Good Enough is not settling; he’s Mr. Right in a slightly less-than-perfect package. For the right person, we all are amazing, but we have to let go of something, or we end up with Hans or Gaston — perfect on paper, a nightmare in real life.
We think we know exactly who we are looking for, but even if we have a carefully cultivated list, it’s hard to translate it into a living, breathing human. Plus, we forget, we aren’t Miss Perfect; we are Miss Practically Perfect.
If Mr. Right and Miss Perfect got married, what a boring life they would have! But when Mr. Good Enough and Miss Practically Perfect find one another, it’s magic — flawed, slightly scruffed, beautiful, authentic magic.
They both win, and they aren’t settling; they are accepting, and their kids, their life, even their dog will surprise them for the better. Fall for someone great who keeps getting better.
