40) Wake Up With Gratitude
I learned this in high school, and after 30 years, it literally rewired my brain. If you’re discovering it for the first time, make it an instant habit and do it daily until it becomes automatic.
It’s simple. When you wake up, give thanks before you open your eyes. List a handful of things you appreciate. It can be about your body (I love my toes, nose, elbows, shoulders, strength, and sun-kissed skin), your environment (thank you for this cozy bed, quiet house, the birds I hear outside, that cute puppy snoring in the corner, the kiddos and hubby sleeping peacefully too), or what you’re anticipating about the day (I’m grateful for the work I do, creativity, collaboration, the flight we will take, the hike we’ll do, the project I’ll finish, the friend I’ll meet for coffee).
Mix it up. The more often you start your day this way, the longer your list will grow, the more it will encompass, the easier it will become to think of all that you are grateful for, and it will set a daily…
