The Art of Reinventing Yourself
It’s funny how many people are reluctant to reinvent themselves. I mean, we live at this incredible moment in time when tech changes the game, removes limitations, connects the world, and impacts the rate of change in ways we can measure and ways we can only speculate about.
Yet, we think we need to be who we were when we declared, “I’m a paleontologist” or “I’m a teacher” or “I want to be a librarian when I grow up.” It’s just not the world we live in.
I mean, anything is possible!! Don’t you want to try it all on? Go BIG and fail or go BIG and WIN?!
The older I get, the more my appetite grows. I want to see it all, taste it all, tour it all, love this crazy beautiful world we live in, and watch my children fall in love with it too.
Experience it for Yourself (and Them)
Speaking of children, becoming a mother is the pinnacle of reinvention, isn’t it? It shifts you in nearly every possible way. For me, it made that sense of urgency to try everything even more pronounced.
Seeing the world through their eyes is five times the wonder — I experience it for myself, through our three kiddos, and note my husband’s quiet appreciation of our collective enthusiasm.
