We did no screens for two years with all three of our kids, and when we introduced them, it took about 5 minutes to catch up. That was surprising and sobering.
Now they've watched every movie ever made that's age-appropriate, read incessantly online (and hard copy), and rely on Google and Alexa for facts and tutorials.
We say we will wait as long as possible for phones, and I hope that's at least six more years.
Screen time is one of the great debates of modern parenting, and rightfully so. They could Zoom with the best of them by kindergarten because of the pandemic, but I love the idea of screens being a tool, a resource, and not their whole world.
