What is Superfan Branding?
Entrepreneurial Revelations Inspired by Christmas at Hogwarts
My husband and I surprised our kiddos with a trip to Hogwarts, which didn’t disappoint. Not only was it their first time to Universal Florida, but the park, and the castle, was lit up for a Christmas celebration, and it was spectacular.
I nearly spilled the beans a few times, so I was glad it was finally here, and going forward, I realized one of my favorite parts of a trip is planning, packing, and anticipating it together — surprises and secrets aren’t really my thing.
However, what is my thing is entrepreneurial lessons, and I can’t help myself; there’s even a key takeaway tucked inside Hogwarts. I think I found beneath Gringotts, in the vaults.
Branding is a Multi-Layered, Multimedia, Multi-Sensory Experience
The park imagery, particularly Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley, is so consistent with the movies and books that it’s like stepping on set or into the story — not a detail left to chance — and it caters to the Harry Potter superfan. Sure, others may enjoy it, but they will miss out on some of the magic, and it’s their loss.
