Working Moms: Advice for Juggling It All

More than 75% of moms are working moms, and more than one-third of all employed women are working mothers. Their days are a finely choreographed dance of who needs to be where, accomplish what, and the responsibility of activities that move projects, goals, relationships, organizations, and communities forward.

Moms are the ultimate multitaskers, juggling work and family responsibilities with grace and finesse, but it’s not easy.

In December 2020, I wrote a post about five tips for juggling motherhood while running a company that got picked up across a few platforms.

Given how the world has changed, I thought I’d update that article for you.

The decision to be a working mom isn’t easy, and launching and growing a business while raising a family might be even more agonizing.

But many of us don’t have a choice to work or not. And many of us don’t have a choice to venture out on our own. A 9-to-5 is no place for working parents. I said what I said.

Some companies get it, and a few bosses do too, but those are the exceptions, not the rules. And the progress I thought we would collectively see over the last nearly three years has stalled. Again.
