You Have Great Energy
Today I had a conversation with a potential client already in another program. I asked her what was missing in her current program, and she replied, “I don’t know.”
But she was meeting with me, right?
So, I asked her a different question, “How would you describe your current program” and she replied, “Intense.”
I often think about how I want my clients to feel inside my program, and the word intense never makes the list.
But it happens, and the reason it happens is that the person running the program is lazy. They would rather dump everything they know on the table and make you sort through it than figure out why what they know works. They would rather demonstrate how smart and experienced they are than figure out the steps to replicate their success.
I did that. Early in my coaching practice, I thought I had to be the expert in everything. I thought if I knew more, I’d grow faster, so I didn’t focus on the right things.
Since then, I’ve realized most of my clients aren’t looking for answers or information. They are looking for how to apply the information that is a Google search away. They are looking for how to curate it, tailor it, and make it work for them.
