Earlier this week, I had an intriguing conversation with a client. Like many high-achieving women I work with, she’s built a stellar career — decades of experience, countless wins, and a reputation for being reliable, smart, and strategic.

She knows what to do when a problem lands on her desk. Her brain clicks into gear — prioritizing, planning, executing. It’s second nature. That sense of competence feels good, even addictive.

But when it comes to the personal side of life?

She’s been stuck for a long time.

You may be surprised to hear this, but it’s incredibly common.

When you’ve spent ten, twenty, or even thirty years investing in your career, it’s easy to lose touch with what you want outside of work.

  • Your identity becomes professional.
  • Your time, energy, and attention go toward achievement.
